Getting a bit longer….
I started this in early January, then dropped it while school was busy, and now have started on it again. I’m finished the colourwork design on the body, and have just started the first row of main colour after the last one of the contrast colour.
I’m using Katia ‘Diana’, which is acrylic, nylon, viscose and angora. It is so lovely and soft though, not your granny’s scratchy, sweaty acrylic.
That side (my first attempt at two-colour knitting) is all well and pretty, but you look behind and….
AAAHH stringy bit everywhere! It’ll look better when it isn’t all squished up on a smallish needle, though. I’m quite proud. There are a few puckery rows in the design, not bad enough that I’d want to frog it. I think a bit of judicious pulling and tugging will get it looking right. I haven’t sewn up the hem yet, which is why the bottom edge looks weird right now.
The colours are fairly true, the red is about right, but the cream is definitely lighter than the carpet; right now it looks the same.

These guys have been felted for a while, I just haven’t had the time to take pictures or upload anything. Yay school being almost over!
So, this is my Booga Bag, with handles, but no pocket or frog closing:
It has a small hole in it that didn’t felt up, in the year (yes, terrible person, I know) between the knitting and the felting, a moth got to it. It was only a small hole, I thought it might felt over, but it hasn’t. It feels stable though, which is good. I’ll patch it somehow, when I feel like picking up a needle. I’m not much of a sewer.

The Ringo bag, which hasn’t felted as much as I wanted, it’s still quite floppy. I put it through the washer twice, and boiled it on the stove once. May have another go sometime or other.

Well, school has died down to a dull-panic level, as opposed to insane my-head-will-pop-off craziness. I have felted these, I just don’t have the pictures yet. I’ll get those up soon, hopefully, along with pictures of the Huntingdon Castle Pullover so far. Here are the pictures I promised a few months ago:
The Booga Bag, pre-felting:
With it are the handle, a pocket, and some thinner i-cord I made out of the very last bits of the leftover yarn. My idea was to make a frog closure from one of Nicky Epstein’s books (Knitted Emblishments, I think) for the bag. Haven’t done that yet.
The Ringo Tote, pre-felting:
The ruler (1 foot) is for scale. The handles are copper rings covered in a garter- stitch strip that is sewn into a tube around the ring. It is fairly tight end-to-end in before felting, but loose side-to-side, where it was sewn. It will shrink down to fit the copper with felting.
Close-up of the handle:
