First, some eye candy*.
*(not my leg, the sock!)

The finished Millicent! Isn’t it pretty? I still need to weave in the starting end, but it is otherwise raring to go. I used less than 2 skeins of Louet Gems, and I have size 8 feet and average ankles/calves. Full measurements used when I finally finish sock #2.
Millicent #2 got some attention yesterday. And then I had to rip out all I did that day. I had left it off at the end of the heel flap. In my keenness to be done with it…. I started the gusset without turning the heel. What is sad is that I managed to pick up all the stitches (thinking ‘is it always this awkward?’) and knit a couple rows before noticing. I was stuck on a line of the pattern… it seems likein the traveling k2p2 band, the stitches don’t stack neatly on top of each other. Although, that could be something to do with me having totally the wrong number of stitches, and the wrong shape of sock when I was doing that part.

I just grafted the toe of one of my Millicent knee socks!!
No pictures for now, as there’s a man coming to knock a hole in our ceiling in a few minutes.
The other sock just needs the foot done…. AT LAST!

While all you out there were writing novels and posting every day, this blog suddenly turned into No Blog Post Month. It was unofficial, I didn’t mean to stop but work just ran away with me. I also didn’t do much knitting at all. But, that knitterly urge has come back, and I have finished something!
This something was very close to done anyway, when I picked it up a few days ago, but it is a start towards my goal of having no WIPs lagging over into the New Year. I don’t think I’ll make that, but we’ll see.
I finished…. a Fleece Artist Shoulder Wrap!

A simple pattern in a pretty yarn. The yarn is Silk Spun and is 100% silk, with a boucle-like texture.
The yarn came with a pattern on the label, and that is what I followed. I say ‘pattern’, but it is just a garter stitch triangle, the yarn is the thing.

Somehow, with the giant gap between when I started this (August!!) and when I finished (a few minutes ago!) I forgot that the increases were on both ends of each row, just not the begining. I remembered that part way through, and changed, so it has a bit of an interesting shape. That doesn’t really concern me though, as I will most likely always wear it like this anyway:

Well, I do have to run off to work for the rest of the day, but hopefully in a day or two I can show you my progress on the Millicents! These will be done before the New Year. That’s my new goal.
