Shownotes – Episode 6

Shownotes from the podcast, because the other blog doesn’t want to work…

But you can still listen! vpk.rycrafty.com

News:
Still in Vancouver. Then I’ll be on the Island. Then Van. Then Vic. Then Van. Where am I? What’s my name?
The Millicents are D.O.N.E. I took photos, but forgot to upload them, and now half my belongings are on the mainland, half on the island. Camera is here, connector cord is there.

A Bloglines Revue!
For starters, Bloglines is a great website that helps you read blogs. You add ‘feeds’ (blogs) to your list, and read them all in once place.
I have 113 in mine, but don’t worry, I didn’t mention all of them! Please go visit these blogs, and read the other entries too! Comment, it’ll be fun, I swear. :)

Here’s a tutorial for for making your own light tent. I vaguely followed it; as much as I could the materials I had at hand.
Zen Yarn Garden – The Semi-solid sock yarn club I’m in. I love it, wish I had the money to continue.
Flickr group for yellow knits.

My Stash Count is at: 17km (10.5 miles). My goal is 10km, and I’m not allowed to buy yarn until I’m below that mark. sigh. Have a look at my stash on Ravelry, and let me know if there is anything you want!

Music:

Today’s music is Bah Hamburg by Junction Pool.

As always the theme music is Greensleeves by Lee Harris and the Tijuana Trumpets.

Both pieces are from the Podsafe Music Network.

The Podcast is back!

After a bit of a hiatus, my podcast A Very Palpable Knit is back! Yay!And some late-breaking news that didn’t make it into the podcast (it’s just that hot!) I’ve opened up an Etsy store!

I can be found at rycrafty.etsy.com. I’m updating stuff slowly, I only have 4 items in there right now. Aaand, I will be having stitch markers, I just haven’t photographed them yet. Expect those after the weekend.

Some pretty flowers. :) They make me think of sunshine, which is good, because it is still -fricking cold out. The funny thing is that it is about -15C out (-22C with windchill), and felt oddly warm when we went out to get groceries tonight. See, temperature is all relative. After a couple days of -40C to -50C, -22C is positively balmy.

Next post… a finished sock!

It’s not Monday…

… but the podcast is finally up. *eek*

I submitted it to iTunes, and it is being ‘reviewed’. I have no idea how long that takes. But it is up! I’ve submitted it to various places, and now I guess I just sit back and wait to see what happens.

*double eek*

PS: no Bolero picks yet, and not likely until at least Saturday.

I’ve been some time

And I do have news! The Fiery Bolero is all finished, including blocking (shock, gasp). I just haven’t taken photos of me in it yet.

I think I like it. The truth will out when I put it on for said pictures (I’m hoping Monday).

As you may (or may not) have noticed, I haven’t posted in a couple weeks. I have a new job, in a real theatre, being a real apprentice (yeah, I have to join a union if I want work, so for now I’m a dogsbody), and working a real lot. I get Mondays off. I work about 9:30am-7pm right now, as we’re in rehearsal.

And crazy old me thought that this time, this I-have-a-new-and-demanding-job-I-love-time, would be the perfect time to start my own podcast. Yes, I have taken the plunge.

I can even give you the link for the website: here. So in the few stolen moments of internet time I get now, I set up that site.

A couple weeks ago, I recorded my first episode. I sat on it for a while, wondering if I really wanted to publish it, if I really wanted me out there. I think I do. Of course, since then, I’ve had all sorts of better ideas about how to do things, but I will publish that first episode (again, hoping Monday!) as I have it. Yes, I have edited out a lot. Mostly ‘um’ and ‘errr’. There is the odd annoying ‘thunk’ noise, but I know what does that now, and how to fix it. So yes. I am (almost) out there.

Will I be the next Lime and Violet? I highly doubt it (I mean, there’s only one of me!). But I’m going to try my hand at something new, which is always fun.
