Episode 3 - In Which I Use The Word Stashbusty

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

The building site finally stopped thumping (I think they were pile-driving?) so I believe this podcast is thump-free!

My Knitting Progress:

My Socks:

THE KNITATOR!!

  • Don’t worry if the sock pattern you want to knit is written for two circs, but you just have DPNs. Knit how you want, it’ll still work. There are different ways to knit a small circumference, but you’re still knitting the same thing.
  • DPN tutorial
  • Magic Loop Tutorial
  • Two Circs Tutorial

Etsy Eloquence:

  • Yarn Ahoy: wonderful customer service, and gorgeous yarn
  • PiddleLoop: amazing knitting project bags. See mine below! I think I want a collection, all in different black and white prints

Yay Stuff!

  • Weavettes - teeny handheld looms, perfect for those sock leftovers. You know you have them. (Also available on eBay, search for Weave-It too!)
  • eLoomanator has a great website about these looms. Check out the Weave-Along too!

Knitteth Thou?

From The Tempest, Act III, sc 3:

Bravely the figure of this harpy hast thou
Perform’d, my Ariel; a grace it had, devouring:
Of my instruction hast thou nothing bated
In what thou hadst to say: so, with good life
And observation strange, my meaner ministers
Their several kinds have done. My high charms work
And these mine enemies are all knit up
In their distractions; they now are in my power
;
And in these fits I leave them, while I visit
Young Ferdinand, whom they suppose is drown’d,
And his and mine loved darling.

Music

Today’s song is Beer, Beer, Beer by the Brobdingnanigan Bards.

As always the theme music is Greensleeves by Lee Harris and the Tijuana Trumpets.

Both pieces are from the Podsafe Music Network.

Knitteth Thou?

From Act II, Scene 2, an excerpt from Macbeth’s speech:

Methought I heard a voice cry ‘Sleep no more!
Macbeth does murder sleep’, the innocent sleep,
Sleep that knits up the ravell’d sleeve of care,
The death of each day’s life, sore labour’s bath,
Balm of hurt minds, great nature’s second course,
Chief nourisher in life’s feast,—

Music

As always the theme music is Greensleeves by Lee Harris and the Tijuana Trumpets, from the Podsafe Music Network.

Our closing music is The Chemical Worker’s Song, by Great Big Sea. I love this band, and was very happy to see their work on the Podsafe Music Network.
